American Dreams/Border Realities Film Series Premiers Next Week in Honor of Somos Un Pueblo Unido's 20th Anniversary;

Series with gather prominent border film directors and will feature the statewide premier of the film Kingdom of Shadows

SANTA FE, NM - In honor of Somos Un Pueblo Unido's 20th anniversary, the Center for Contemporary Arts Cinematheque will host a border film series on Saturday, November 7th from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.


The film series will include three film screenings: the award-winning THE HAND THAT FEEDS; Gregory Nava's groundbreaking EL NORTE; the new and acclaimed Participant Media film KINGDOM OF SHADOWS, by award-winning documentary filmmaker Bernardo Ruiz.


The all-day event with also feature a reception and conversation with filmmakers Gregory Nava, Bernardo Ruiz and Alex Rivera.

Founded in 1995, Somos Un Pueblo Unido is a statewide community-based and immigrant-led organization that promotes worker and racial justice. In 2012, Somos founded New Mexico's first and only worker center, the United Worker Center of New Mexico, to organize and provide support to non-union, low-wage workers. Today, Somos has an active membership of 2,500 people in ten New Mexico counties.
