JOB DESCRIPTION
Community Organizer for Workers’ Rights Project
(Part-time position)

Summary:
Organizer will implement workers’ rights project geared toward Latino immigrant workers in Santa Fe. Duties include: conducting outreach to immigrant community; organizing “know-your-rights” workshops; recruiting and training members and leaders; and working with workers and allies to promote improved workplace policies.
Qualifications:
- Experience working in low-income immigrant communities.
- Fluency in Spanish and English.
- Must be knowledgeable regarding immigration issues.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in person and in writing.
- Computer literacy including being able to work with word processing,
database and publishing programs.
Responsibilities:
- Implement community education campaign about worker protections and remedies that includes radio, newspaper, and television advertisements.
- Organize workers’ rights workshops for immigrants.
- Train Spanish-speaking volunteers to conduct know-your-rights workshops.
- Work with immigrant workers and allies to conduct research and organize local campaigns to improve workplace conditions.
